As we have just discussed, the benefits that arose from scientific management seemed outweighed by the multiple drawbacks we have just highlighted, relating the human needs and considerations of workers. Thus, the idea based on rationality and technique almost seemed to â€Å"dehumanise the practice of management†, through this statement Inkson Kolb (2001) understood. Provincial Employees Representing Administrative †MyAssignmenthelp

Question: Discuss about the Provincial Employees Representing Administrative. Answer: Introduction Labor relations includes the association between employees and employers through workplaces which are unionized or one that might be potentially unionized plus the regulations which could impact these workplaces. This involves the rules and processes related to general bargaining. The government offers a fair and balanced labor relations framework and disputes resolutions. Along the policy development path and labor relations ongoing issues, the government offers education and facilitation, the collective power of bargaining and services in dispute resolution(Yonatan Reshef, 2013). This paper focuses on Alberta Union of Provincial Employees, its history, its formation, its services and current issues that the union is facing. The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) is a trade union in Canada that solely operates in Alberta province. The union as created in 1919 on 26th of March and by December 2013 it was approximated to have 81,000 members rendering it Albertas biggest union. A number of employees employed by the Alberta government convened a founding meeting in First Presbyterian Church of North Edmonton(Convention, 2011). The attendees made an agreement to incorporate CSA (Civil Service Association Of Alberta) the first president of the union became Judson Lambe. Many members of AUPE are employees from the public sector. The unions membership is split into four sectors which include: Health care providers employees (22,000) Employees of the post-secondary educational institutions and school boards (46,000) Government board and agencies (9.0000) and Municipal governments (3,000) Significant events of the AUPE life In the middle of 1990s, the union experienced a decline in its membership because of privatization of some services initially run by the government during Premier Ralph Kleins province leadership. The membership went down to almost 35,000 in the year 1995. Nevertheless, under Dan MacLennan leadership, elected in 1997, formerly a Calgary jail guard, the union rekindled and its membership rose to over 60,000. Efforts of MacLennan was assisted by growing moderation in the Klein government policies and the drastic population and economic growth in Alberta province(Benjamin Aaron, 2009). In another event, AUPE was part of NUPGE up to 2001, where the organization suspended it due to a conflict over an organizing campaign that engaged another unions members. In 2006 during its annual convention, delegates formerly voted to disaffiliate from NUPGE and by association the Alberta Federation of Labor and Canadian Labor Congress. Through this AUPE is an active union in Albertas provincial issues. The union carried out a major campaign in 2007 where it advocated for the ban of strikes by its members. However, on many occasions, the members have engaged in illegal strikes to emphasize on their collective agreement(Employees, 2017). The union claims that about 75,000 of its members are going to engage in collective bargaining in the year 2017. This includes individuals who are direct workers to the government, public sector organizations and health care providers. Guy Smith as the president of the Union, has claimed that contract proposals by the union are going to be tempered by economic downturn realities, including thousands of persons working in the private sector who have due to the slumping oil industry lost their jobs. The union has recently acquired a new right which is to take job action. As president Smith puts it, with the newly acquired right, a responsibility comes for the union to utilize it prudently and ensure that it gives the union an opportunity to have resources and rights which did not exist before(Employees, 2017). UAPE believes that it is their social; responsibility to ensure that their functions protect peoples individual rights. The union anticipates that the participants should debate and challenge issues but not individuals. Participants are going to involve themselves in behaviors which respect other peoples gender, occupation, race, sexuality, and ethnicity. Behaviors that are deemed to undermine participation like crude of rude remarks, sexism, racism, and harassment will result to those particular individuals losing their right to participate in activities of UAPE(Convention, 2011). The union motivates its members to consider others as brothers and sisters and in so doing it advocates for equality and solidarity. I personally would prefer joining UAPE than any other organization in Alberta. Together with its huge active membership, the union has been able to negotiate most of the best contracts in Alberta province and it has fruitfully pressed for job security, wages, and benefits that employed Albertans need. UAPE is always there if any of its members has a problem at work. It is an organization that embraces democracy as it is run by the members for the members(Opposition, 2011). References Alberta, A. Who Is Responsible For The Death Of Romeo And Juliet Essay Example For Students

Who Is Responsible For The Death Of Romeo And Juliet Essay Romeo And Juliet Williams Shakespeares Romantic Tragedy Romeo and Juliet, is in regard to two lovers, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. Which come from different households, which have been feuding for many years now. The main issues that concern Romeo and Juliet are the issue of love and hate, and defiance of parents wishes. When the two characters initially meet they have a love and hate relationship without even knowing it. Romeo and Juliet are greatly influenced by the two households feuding that they were brought up in under the impression that they hate each other. The two lovers knew that they existed and hated each other just because of the feud. This was until they meet each other and got to know each other for what they really were. They didnt know each other by last name anymore but for what was inside. The two lovers realised that they have a love hate relationship when they find out what household they come from. Juliet expresses this in act 1 scene 5, line 137 by saying, My only love sprung from my only hate! This still doesnt stop the two lovers. As that they are in love with each other so much that it does not matter two them one single bit to them all they want to be is together. Still the two lovers would prefer it if the circumstances were indeed different. She wonders why the circumstan ces have to be this way and she wishes that she no longer be a Capulet or that Romeo no longer be a Montague. However she than realises that it doesnt matter what name a person has its whats inside and that definitely the truth no matter what Romeo name he would still be the same person. Juliet expresses this in Act 2 Scene 2 lines 45 49 So Romeo would, were he no Romeo calld, Retain that dear perfection which he owes Without that title. Romeo doth thy name; And for thy name, which is no part of thee, Take myself The two lovers than decide to get married. Straight after that they have met. Romeo asks Friar Laurence to marry them. At first the friar isnt sure but then thinks about it and thinks how it could help for a peace to come for the two feuding families, because like it our not they would be related. I think the friar had other selfish reasons to marry them because he couldve been recognised as the peacemaker of Fair Verona. The lovers have to overcome a lot of problems, whi ch ends up in Tragedy. The problem that affect them the most are the problem of both of their families fighting and Juliets parents expecting her to marry Paris. Romeo ends up being banished from Verona because of the feuding, which leads him in killing Tybalt, Juliets cousin. He kills Tybalt because of the rage he felt when Tybalt killed Mercutio, Romeos best friend. Mercutio was protecting Romeo and then he got shot so I guess Romeo must have felt both guilt and rage because his best friend blamed him for his death, as this were the last words that Mercutio said. We will write a custom essay on Who Is Responsible For The Death Of Romeo And Juliet specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The defiance of parental wishes was another problem. With Romeo being banished from Verona, Tybalt dead, Juliets parents moved the wedding earlier because they thought it would offer some comfort for Juliet because of the sudden death of her cousin. Juliet was to marry Paris or be thrown out into the streets and her parents wouldnt care less if she were dead or alive. .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 , .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 .postImageUrl , .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 , .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8:hover , .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8:visited , .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8:active { border:0!important; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8:active , .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8 .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ubf68d9b0dc9d9648beef53f20f06e8a8:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The Great Gatsby-The American Dream EssayThis is why Juliet drinks the potion so she can run away with Romeo and live happily ever after well that what she thought instead she caused a lot of heartache for everyone. This very famous story appeals to a lot of people, I think because the way that that Shakespeare wrote it. He made you feel for the two characters. It also to a lot of people because in some very traditional families the daughter husband is chosen for her and she is left in misery for the rest of her life all because of her parents wanted her to marry a certain person. The persons usually claim that they do it to protect the child, some parents may mean this but other wont like Capulet he wanted his daughter to marry Count Paris so that he would gain a higher social status. It can also be compared to the racial conflict that we experience everyday in our life. The two households can be represented as being two different racial backgrounds feuding together. There has been a lot of stories about 2 young people not carrying about what race the person is and caring for the person because of the person that they are inside. There families the find out and they arent aloud to speak to each other. Its usually just a friendship and not even a romance. William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet is a terrific story about 2 lovers who are longing to be together her on earth but instead they are together with each other in heaven.
